About the Role

 

The Materials Manufacturing Engineering Coordinator works closely with, customers and suppliers to lead the improvement, development, planning and implementation of materials best practices and projects.   Using project management skills and methodologies, the Manufacturing Engineering Coordinator identifies, documents, investigates, tracks, resolves and continuously improves all processes within regards to plant layout, PFEP, and all material conveyance related issues.

               

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and maintain Plan For Every Part for all current and new programs based on run standards and customer volumes

  • Ensure that PFEP is designed to maximize space utilization and minimize material movement

  • Continuously update the Material Flow Plan, Plant Layout and PFEP to ensure that space utilization is maximized and wasted movement and space are eliminated

  • Develop and maintain standard work / routings for all material conveyance

  • Develop and maintain a Dock Utilization Plan for all facilities

  • Prepare and review Value Stream Maps

  • Participate in CTPAT audits along with the Logistics Coordinator and Materials Area Leaders

  • Actively participate in new program launces

  • Help monitor and implement Engineering Changes and Bank Builds

  • Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA.   Follows and ensures the Company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.

Who we are looking for

 

  • Post secondary education in Materials/Supply Chain Management, Material Conveyance/Lean, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

  • A minimum of 2 yrs experience in a Planning or Layout / Material Flow related role required

  • Must be knowledgeable and have experience with Microsoft Office and CAD.

  • Must have strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills.

  • Must be familiar with manufacturing processes and regulations

Your preferred qualifications

 

  • Knowledge and experience in project management and leadership

  • Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position.

  • Knowledge of Lean Principles, Value Stream and Layout Design
