Role Summary

Magna’s ADAS technologies are shaping an autonomous future and improving lives. The ADAS intern/Co-op supports the ADAS team by integrating, developing, testing and debugging the ADAS algorithms such as ACC, AEB, Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop building blocks for ADAS features/algorithms
  • Integrate new or modified Simulink models into the MATLAB and/or CarMaker test environment
  • Create or modify test cases based on the requirements to cover the new or modified functionalities
  • Debug issues found and root cause them
  • Report and document issues; Propose correction to issue reported
  • Perform systems testing of products on bench and in vehicles making sure the product functions and performs as the customer expects per requirements.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Masters or PhD degree program in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Automotive Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent
  • Mandatory:
    • Experience in vehicle dynamics OR control systems OR digital signal processing through coursework or industry experience
    • Coursework or project with vehicle simulation/testing
    • Experience with Matlab/Simulink and Stateflow
    • MS Office Tools knowledge
    • Basic knowledge of ADAS features
    • Working knowledge in structured engineering approach
    • Troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with CarMaker/CarSim/Requivalent software
    • Experience in ADAS/AD academic/industry projects
    • Execution of test suites in a model/software in the loop environment (MIL/SIL)
    • Working knowledge in development of portable, reusable and modular software in automotive environment

  • Ability to travel to work location in Auburn Hills, MI
  • Self-motivation, tenacity, and determination are very useful in this position
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision
