Role Summary

In the complex field of autonomous vehicles, it takes many talented and diverse people to bring together the design.  For this role, the ADAS Features group at Magna Electronics is looking for an ADAS Feature Owner for Safety. This person is responsible to drive ADAS algorithm design utilizing requirements and Key Performance Indexes (KPIs) to achieve necessary results for such features as Emergency Braking and Lateral Collision. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Ensure timely and effective negotiation of customer feature requirements, change requests, and defend against requirement creep.
•    Decompose regulations or customer ideas/concepts/requirements into system-level ADAS requirements.
•    Use experience to propose requirements when faced with ambiguity.  
•    Write and maintain system-level ADAS feature requirements.
•    Define Key Performance Indexes for feature algorithms.
•    Organize feature requirement reviews
•    Maintain feature requirement traceability
•    Support system validation team in the creation and execution of test cases for either the system bench or vehicle tests.
•    Support system/software architects and algorithm engineers in the definition of interfaces between features. 
•    Incorporate system-level strategies such as system degradation into your feature.
•    Evaluate and tune feature performance on benches and/or vehicles.
•    Analyze test results and data to ascertain feature performance meets requirements. 
•    Analyze feature defects and plan/execute corrective actions.
•    Drive and support the development of ASPICE, FMEA, and FTA artifacts.
•    Deploy continuous improvement ideas for the development and maintenance of requirements. 
•    Follow safe work procedures; Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Use workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Report workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Likes to take ownership.
•    Highly organized.
•    Good presentation skills and personable demeanor. 
•    Inquisitive personality.
•    Understands how to execute according to the ASPICE V-cycle for algorithm and software.
•    Experience with requirement management tools like PTC Integrity, DOORS, etc.
•    Experience with ADAS Safety features, functions, and algorithms.
•    5+ years of relevant experience.
•    Experience as an algorithm and/or software developer for embedded system.  
 

Additional Information

•    Experience driving automotive projects to production. 
•    Certificate from requirement training or similar
•    Experience with Enterprise Architect
•    Experience in using Simulink for embedded algorithm development
•    Experience in using Vector tools (CANoe/CANape)
