Role Summary

Leads all supplier escalations in a centralized function with the support of the regional material follow up teams.  Develops and/or assists in developing strategies and solutions to continuously improve cost levels, stable sources of supply, high quality of commodities and other governing factors.  Tracks supplier performance and works with suppliers to improve quality, delivery, cost, productivity and support.  Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.  

Key Responsibilities

Work with suppliers to ensure supply continuity and optimal inventory levels.  Work involves independent problem solving and decision making with general direction given on project objectives and broad guidance from corporate strategy and goals.  

•    Responsible for managing assigned suppliers globally to ensure on time delivery
•    Lead global meetings with suppliers to review current supply constraints and allocate material as needed between divisions.
•    Analyze data and methods to predict and improve supplier delivery of products 
•    Mentor local material follow up teams to align the global strategies and processes
•    Support and negotiate release changes within lead-times to obtain DOH KPIs
•    Measure supply chain performance and report to management.
•    Participate in cross-functional teams (Eng., Purchasing, Program Management, and Mfg.) to meet program objectives.  
•    Participate in Commodity Global Teams to optimize supplier performance and minimize obsolescence.
•    Develop partnerships with suppliers to ensure their conformance to Magna specified objectives.
•    Monitor supplier performance and hold accountable to non-compliance events.
•    Educate suppliers on topics related to material supply.
•    Cross train on other Material Analyst’s commodities

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor's degree in business or related field including four years of purchasing and/or materials experience.   
•    Strong leadership/team facilitation skills to develop strategies, plan and lead, manage, and coordinate timing of assignments 
•    Excellent organizational skills in order to establish priorities, identify and set goals, meet deadlines, etc.
•    Proven knowledge of inventory management 
•    SAP planning experience. 4 years min.
