Role Summary

The Manager – Function Performance Test leads the system test engineering team(s) through various product development and production cycles delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions into manufacturing and to our customers. The Manager has responsibility for both people management (development, coaching) and project leadership where needed. 

Key Responsibilities

•    As a part of Global System Test line management, this position is responsible for leading and managing vehicle data management, reprocessing using HILs/SILs, annotation, supporting tools and ADAS functions KPI reporting for NA and AP programs
•    Responsible for hiring and developing team members that are part of the System test organization
•    Ensures that programs are properly resourced (both quality and quantity) for success, whether through assignment of direct resources, or leverage of external resources as required.
•    Provides team leadership, management support, including coaching and active engagement with direct and extended team.
•    Provides technical leadership in directing the efforts of cross functional engineering team in the development and release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and/or customer expectations.
•    Ensures engineering timing plans, defect / issues lists, risk assessments, lessons learned are created and maintained and provides engineering status for project reviews (e.g. gate, design, milestones, etc.) according to program timing for all assigned projects.
•    Responsible for leading the following sub-groups – Data Management & Reprocessing (DMR), Tools development & maintenance – HILs/SILs, visualization, vehicle data loggers, data annotation and test execution and KPI reporting

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Required Training /Education:

Master’s degreein engineering.

PhD highly preferred

Management/leadership training is an asset (Required for Senior Manager positions)•MBA degree highly preferred)

10+years of relevant experience in the appropriate discipline and in team management/coaching. People management responsibility of at least 3 years.


Comprehensive knowledge of product development and engineering practices in the automotive field

Comprehensive working knowledge in a structured engineering approach

Comprehensive working knowledge of structured problem solving(8D)

Comprehensive working knowledge of configuration management, project planning, monitoring and control techniques
