Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Purchasing will oversee global purchasing VAVE activities, involving in quoting and sourcing for global purchasing operations to ensure successful launches by meeting cost and timing targets.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring and training, reward and disciplinary actions of employees and performance appraisals.

Key Responsibilities

•    Lead the global purchasing VAVE activities as directed by senior management. Responsible to launch and track timing for successful implementation of project and any other KPI’s set forth by senior management.
•    Involving in quoting and sourcing for global purchasing operation perspective.
•    Supports the Dedicated RFQ Quote Team and helps prescreen customer quotes. 
•    Coordinate with the Commodity Purchasing, Program Purchasing and Core Development Purchasing.
•    Develop and update process descriptions, reporting features and controlling tools to track status for the purchasing and sourcing.
•    Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the purchasing function with the objective of optimizing the total cost of purchases, while selecting the optimal capable source to support the program in all areas.
•    Assist in development of a strategic supply chain.
•    Identify and develop training opportunities to develop internal candidates for advancement.
•    Assist in analysis of new trends in market & technology
•    Maintain supplier relationships that are both productive and mutually beneficial while continually searching for and renegotiating cost savings on new sourcing opportunities, with current and / or new suppliers.
•    Work directly with strategic purchasing to improve order quantities, payment terms, consignment, supply disruptions and other critical items.
•    Work cooperatively with peers to implement consistent policies, procedures, strategies, and reporting.
•    Communicate the necessary information to management to assist in decision-making and strategy formulation.
•    Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business.
•    Participates in continuous improvement efforts for products, tools, processes and programs.
•    Responsible for the adherence of all processes, tools and methods of the purchasing management team to all applicable standards, laws, rules and regulations.
•    Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.  Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
•    Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.
•    Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS).

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor of Science Degree is required with electronics or business emphasis.
•    MBA and professional certification preferred.
•    Several years’ (7+) experience in Purchasing or related field.
•    Relevant experience within the automotive electronics industry preferred.
