Role Summary


Responsible for multiple payrolls along with related taxable benefits. Administration of benefit program, reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts and management of the year end payroll process. 

Key Responsibilities


  • Administer multiple payrolls using ADP GlobalView payroll service 
  • Review HR Workday Integrations are accurately loaded in payrollCo
  • Process all new hires, LOA, transfers, terminations, and related payroll changes in ADP 
  • Process ROE’s 
  • Reporting and reconciling GRRSP/Employer Match and other retirement programs
  • Calculate, remit and reconcile WSIB monthly 
  • Administer Employee Stock Options within ADP  
  • Proper retention of all payroll documents
  • Reconcile year end statutory remittances and T4’s
  • Support employees on all payroll and benefit matters 
  • Additional tasks as required


  • Administration of Benefit providers portal
  • Review and update in Sunlife Administrator Portal for all life events
  • Complete required reporting as requested


  • Maintain and generate payroll journal entries on a monthly basis
  • Maintain general ledger payroll and retirement account reconciliations on a monthly basis

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge and Education 

  • Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act
  • Minimum PCP (Canadian Payroll association) Certification or working towards certification

Work Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll/accounting experience in a corporate environment

Skills and Competencies 

  • Thorough knowledge of Payroll Systems, Excel and Word 
  • Knowledge of Accounting Systems considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently as many tasks are deadline oriented (overtime may be required) 
  • Strong time management skills

Work Environment 

  • Hybrid/Office environment
  • Overtime as required
