Job Summary

The Senior Expert will be a key member of the R&D team. In this role, you will use your expertise to plan, organize, execute, and coordinate meaningful R&D programs with internal and external Engineering and R&D departments, companies, institutions, and academia. You have a strong sense of curiosity, along with an open mindset. Challenging the status quo, you continuously strive to learn and reach for new and innovative ideas. Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the ideation process on projects / assignments and identify gaps in the existing products and technologies to guide advanced strategy targets that are critical to Magna.
  • Research latest advances in technology building blocks for automotive products & systems, software/data analytics methods and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Lead, document, and present advances of the projects.
  • Research latest advances in technology building blocks for automotive products & systems, software/data analytics methods and advanced manufacturing techniques.
  • Support Corporate Engineering R&D with topic-specific consultation.

Knowledge and Education

  • Degree in a Engineering or related field (Master’s Degree or Ph.D preferred)
  • Comprehensive understanding about automotive technology

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of recent, in-depth, hands-on experience in a relevant field in the automotive industry
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced principles/theories and contribute to the development of solutions to complex problems that require innovation and ingenuity.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize new science and technologies relevant within existing trends and business strategy and extend them into new applications.
  • Demonstrated technical ability and creativity to initiate, direct, and control specific projects.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to work in global team-based environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office incl. high level skills on PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal) and good presence

Work Environment

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Local and/or international travel may be required.
