Role Summary

Create Engineering Change Requests in GM system and manage to completion.  This position requires a knowledgeable, and committed professional who is self-directed with leadership qualities. This person has strong automotive product engineering skills, organizational skills and the ability to comprehend a total business situation, acting quickly, effectively, and prudently to facilitate solutions for the customer on behalf of Magna.

Location

Magna Mirrors Lowell Division in Alto, MI

Home Office would be at manufacturing location.  Travel as required to the customer once COVID restrictions at GM VEC are removed (typically 1 ~ 2 days/week)

OR

GM Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC) in Warren, MI

A work from home required during COVID restrictions

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 5 Years experience in product or quality engineering within the automotive industry
  • Thorough knowledge of GDT, and tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Experience successfully interfacing with multiple automotive OEM customers
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project)
  • This job requires good to excellent communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend issue/situation and work to resolve
  • Excellent organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Write and Manage ECR’s for Programs
  • Manage GM PRTS issues by directly inputting root cause, solution, and permanent corrective action timing into PRTS (Problem Resolution Tracking System)
  • Write EWO’s to implement corrective actions for PRTS issues
  • Represent Magna at GM Program Management Meetings (VAPIR, PET, CIT, CPIT, Pre-grain Approvals, Appearance Approvals, Health Check) 
  • Present new technologies and engineering cost estimates to GM program teams
  • Lead weekly Program PDT (Open Issues) and Design Review Meetings
  • Create Peer Review presentations and lead Peer Review Discussion with GM team
  • Primary Engineering interface to GM design studio
  • Support Platform Warranty Meetings
