Role Summary

The AME Director is responsible for leading a team of Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, driving key advances in equipment selection to deliver process improvements and effective use of all capital deployed across our manufacturing Divisions.  This position is open to any location in Magna Electronics globally. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement group level strategy for equipment and process that supports the current product road map and business plan
  • Define and structure a clear road map for process development through close collaboration with R&D department, as well as drive towards Industry 4.0 requirements
  • Manage complete Capex budget for Operations to meet Group financial targets
  • Develop standardization of equipment selection across all product lines, ensuring global standardization is a key driver
  • Introduce global partnerships with market leaders for key equipment that allows benefits in process optimization as well as cost leverage
  • Ensure on time and accurate support for business group quotations, determining cost drivers and Capex requirements in support to Division IE team
  • Define and implement KPI’s to demonstrate clear progress in manufacturing principles
  • Support new EEU footprint development with detailed planning for refurbishment and industrialization to meet strategy timing

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 4-8 years’ relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above)
  • Automotive electronics (mandatory)
  • 5 years within a Senior Leadership role within an Electronics Manufacturing plant
