Engineer Intern ADAS

Position Overview

Magna’s ADAS technologies are shaping an autonomous future and improving lives.

The ADAS intern/Co-op supports the ADAS team by integrating, developing, testing and debugging the ADAS algorithms such as ACC, AEB, Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist etc.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop building blocks for ADAS features/algorithms
  • Integrate new or modified Simulink models into the MATLAB and/or CarMaker test environment
  • Create or modify test cases based on the requirements to cover the new or modified functionalities
  • Debug issues found and root cause them
  • Report and document issues; Propose correction to issue reported
  • Perform systems testing of products on bench and in vehicles making sure the product functions and performs as the customer expects per requirements.

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a master’s or PhD degree program in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Automotive Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent

 

Education / Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a college or University

 

Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Experience in vehicle dynamics OR control systems OR digital signal processing through coursework or industry experience
  • Coursework or project with vehicle simulation/testing
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink and Stateflow
  • MS Office Tools knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of ADAS features
  • Working knowledge in structured engineering approach
  • troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience with CarMaker/CarSim/Requivalent software
  • Experience in ADAS/AD academic/industry projects
  • Execution of test suites in a model/software in the loop environment (MIL/SIL)
  • Working knowledge in development of portable, reusable and modular software in automotive environment.

 

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.

 

Role Summary

Assist team in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support with Engineering changes.
  • Work with design team to create / modify CAD models.
  • Assist with engineering documentation (DFMEA’s & DVP’s).
  • Help facilitate critical design reviews.
  • Assist with updates to design rules and specifications.
  • Assist Lead Engineers with current production program support.
  • Assist (PTS) product technical specialists.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Some related experience preferred but not required.
  • Able to work 30-40 hours a week.
  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University 
  • Degree’s towards Electrical, Software, Mechanical and Systems engineering preferred.

  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.
