Role Summary

The Manger Profitability Reporting & Quoting is responsible for developing and maintaining program specific financials.  Additional responsibilities include product line profitability reporting & business planning.  The Sr. Project Controller & Profitability Specialist is part of a dedicated team responsible for developing and coordinating accurate product cost estimates for new business opportunities and engineering changes. He/she will also maintain cost and pricing data thru the life cycle of programs starting with quoting phase and supporting program management all the way to production - monitoring, analyzing and reporting project status and variances.  Actively involved with program and product line management and product line to identify potential areas of concern, develop and recommend solutions, implement changes and create reports as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops accurate and consistent product cost estimates and financial models
    • Works with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Program Management and Sales to secure the necessary information for proper quotations.
    •  Assists other departments on matters pertaining to the development of cost estimates to assure consideration of all pertinent facts.
  • Participates in the development of methods and work simplification best suited for cost estimating.
  • Keeps informed of labor and overhead rates and material costs to be used in estimating.
  • Maintains cost models/files of estimating data and cost records and accurate data base information
  • Analyzes and computes cost reduction suggestions.
  • Sales with recommendations for pricing and all additional charges.
  • Reports quarterly profitability by Product Line and Customer
  • Supports annual business planning
  • Any various requests from Supervisor or upper management.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
  • • 5+ years of professional project costing experience preferably within the automotive industry.
