Role Summary

Under the direction of the IT Manager, manages projects, system changes and improvements from the planning stage through implementation and best practices review.  In addition, administers, supports and maintains IT systems and hardware in the manufacturing facility including the production line, shipping/receiving, conference rooms and office areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers and supports manufacturing (MES), shipping and customer broadcast systems.
  • Administers and supports Cimplicity, RSLinx, and MS SQL installations, including Cimplicity scripting and MS SQL stored procedures.
  • Administers and supports Microsoft Windows Servers including clustering, Microsoft Windows clients, LAN, WAN, switches and routers.
  • Supports hardware such as servers, PCs, printers, barcode printers, barcode scanners and touch screens.
  • Maintains and enforces network security.
  • Develops Microsoft SQL reports and maintain databases.
  • Develops and maintains groupware applications (Microsoft SharePoint, Lotus Notes).
  • Administers help desk system.
  • Responsible for the design, development and installation of new plc based control systems.
  • Provides production support by trouble shooting and resolving machine PLC related issues.

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of seven (7) years of related IT work experience including a minimum of three (3) years of IT support experience in a JIT automotive manufacturing environment.



Additional Information


  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, software and network operations and capabilities
  • Proficiency with Active Directory administration; .NET, ASP, HTML, SAP ERP, Microsoft Windows; Cimplicity, RSLinx and MS SQL Server
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to detect, analyze and resolve computer hardware, software and network problems in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear and useful instruction and training; or obtain necessary information to correct production problems from users
  • Basic knowledge in the following software packages: Allen Bradley RSLogix5,500, 5000, Factory Talk View Studio, Allen Bradley Panel Builder32. (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and networking
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of industrial networks. (Ethernet IP)
  • Able to work overtime as per job requirements.
