Role Summary

 Lead HD-map-based software algorithm development to enable L2 and L3 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features including as hands-free driving assist system

Key Responsibilities

Develop rapid prototyping solution to utilize HD map data by extracting map information/attributes (such as reconstructor output) that can be used by the ADAS features like ACC, HWA, TSR, LCC, AEB etc.

• Develop road fusion algorithm by combining e-horizon/HD-map data and camera data for use in lateral vehicle control

• Contribute to the ADAS SD/HD Map roadmap, strategy, & software rollout plan

• Understand various industry standards like ADASIS and identify the attributes required for SD/HD map as they relate to the features planned for roll out by the AD/ADAS team

• Developing, testing, and validation of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) functions focusing on customer comfort and safety.

• Support the development of a multimodal (cameras, HD map) sensor stack solution

•Demonstrate ability to manage time & complexity and strive for the  optimal solution •Have a clear understanding of stakeholder requirements and  expectations (Why?) before identifying the solution (How?) and implementing the design  (What?)

Key Qualifications/Requirements

M.S. (mandatory) or Ph.D. (optional) in related field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role

• Experience with application of SD/HD map or e-horizon or ADASIS v2/3 for an ADAS or AD project a must

• Strong C++ software development skills necessary.

• Familiarity with socket programming in C++ or Python.

• Experience/expertise to integrate multiple software/subsystem codes (C++) to implement ADAS/perception applications.

• Experience using Linux environment.

• Experience with multiple sensors (e.g. camera, LIDAR, radar, GPS, IMU, odometry)

• Familiarity with GPS/GNSS including RTK.

• Experience with version control tools like Git.

• Experience in Robotics, or Controls projects a must.

Additional Information

• Python experience preferred.

• Knowledge of ROS, DDS or other middleware systems

• Experience with e-Horizon/map and camera fusion highly preferred

• Strong understanding of distributed and parallel computing. Familiarity with automated testing practices. Proficiency in linear algebra, probability, statistics.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.

•Knowledge  of embedded software development in C/C++ for 16 bit and 32 bit micro-controllers  including application and low level drivers for multiple micro-controllers such as PPC  microcontrollers, ARM Core, or DSP

•Familiarity of CAN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, neoVI
