Role Summary
The Functional Safety (FuSi) and Cyber Security Technical Specialist is responsible to provide technical leadership to the engineering organization from the managerial level down to the engineering level. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best-practices, work to identify strategic competitive gaps and lead cross-functional resolution of competitive gaps and other issues identified in the organization. A Technical Specialist could be required to fill in for a managerial or non-managerial role at a moment’s notice. |
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as primary technical specialist for all functional safety and cyber security engineering-related technical concerns and offers expertise to the product teams as appropriate
- Identify strategic changes required to improve overall tools, processes, efficiency and quality
- Participates in product design reviews and ensures Safety and Security best practices are considered and followed
- Proactively aid the engineering organization to avoid problems
- Drive Safety and Security related Risk Management processes into the organization
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts, researches, recommends and initiates implementation of enhancements to products, processes and programs
- Support the development and review safety and security key project deliverables
- Support development and reviews of Fault Tree & Hazard Analysis (FTA, HARA)
- Support development and reviews of Development Interface Agreement (DIA)
- Support development and review of safety and security FMEAs
- Support development and reviews of threat analysis and risk assessments (TARA)
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering or 10 years technical engineering experience
- Minimum of 15 years deep and relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above) in engineering design and development.
- Deep and comprehensive knowledge in design and development of automotive electronics
- Deep and comprehensive knowledge in the development and execution of automotive electronics products. Areas of expertise may include:
- Safety critical electrical designs including diagnostics, redundancies and recovery
- Safety and security software design and compliance
- Cyber Security product requirements
