About the Role
The Project Management Office function has the mandate to provide cross enterprise project / program visibility; deliver standard project management methodology and business analysis, tools and resources for consistent and quality project execution; deliver qualified PMBA resources for initiatives as required; provide education and development for PMBAs across Global IT, and link to related activities such as Organizational Change Management.
Regular travel: up to 25% of the time.
Your Responsibilities
- Team Development & Management
- Recruit, supervise and lead the PMO NA team to ensure high service levels and customer satisfaction
- Provides coaching and mentoring for NA team members to help them achieve individual effectiveness
- Manages the P&L and Budget for the north American PMO team
- Works closely with other members of Global IT and the BRM community to ensure the PMO is delivering on the needs of the organization
- Executes an appropriate sourcing strategy combining internal as well as capacity on demand resources within region
- PMO Standards / Tools / Templates
- Supports the development and implementation of Magna Global IT Project Management & Business Analysis methodologies, tools and templates
- Train and educate both PMO members as well as external PMBAs regarding these standards / tools / templates
- Supports establishing governance mechanisms for successful project / program delivery
- Portfolio Management
- Work closely with the BRM organization (NEED) and the Enterprise Architecture organization (PLAN) to help mature Magna’s Portfolio Management activities
- Supports the delivery of capabilities to identify, prioritize, manage, monitor, and assess the status of all relevant IT projects across the organization
- Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of an appropriately sized Portfolio Management program, using this to deliver analysis and status reporting on the portfolio within region
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related discipline is required
- CAPM, PMP or equivalent certification
- Prosci certification an asset
Your preferred qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ progressive experience managing IT projects with cross-functional stakeholders from IT and business groups
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices around project management
- Knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of business analysis and requirements gathering
- Negotiation skills and political acuity
- Interpersonal and oral/written communication skills to make presentations to senior management and other senior stakeholders
- Exposure to Enterprise Architecture projects an asset
- Exposure to Organizational Change Management projects an asset
- Strong Project Management / Business Analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving & interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated hands-on, collaborative approach; works well in a team
- Proven skills in sharing information and expertise with others; delivering solutions, influencing, and root cause problem solving
- Experience influencing the business leaders, balancing drive for continuous improvement with respect for local company culture and processes
- Strong English communication skills
