Role Summary

 

This role works across Divisions and Groups to deliver L&D programs, contributing directly to Magna’s business and strategic priorities and providing insight and recommendations to support continuous improvement.  As part of this work, the role is primarily accountable for successful delivery of Magna’s global leadership development programs and ensuring global alignment of standardized program content across regions and groups.

Key Responsibilities

 

Program Management

  • Work closely with Corporate L&D management team to implement and continuously improve our global leadership development programs
  • Act as a Corporate L&D point of contact representing Magna International with a primary focus on implementation and delivery of our global leadership development programs.
  • Coordinate with regional L&D Managers and Specialists to achieve effective adoption and delivery of programs to meet L&D standards
  • Oversee regional program customizations and contribute to global version control of course materials
  • Coordinate and communicate with group Talent/HR teams and program participants to register, schedule and track participation in the programs
  • Work with external partners to deliver quality content and programs that align to program learning objectives, and overall L&D strategy
  • Design and implement strategies to evaluate training programs at all levels of the Kirkpatrick model, and implement globally across all programs
  • Track and report on learning outcomes to demonstrate impact of programs to the business

 

Administration & Event Management

  • Manage participant registrations, track attendance, progress and completions using the Magna LMS
  • Lead, and at times execute program logistics (ex. secure venues and hotel blocks, obtain/print training materials, equipment, etc.)
  • Compile, analyze and report on adoption, utilization and other learning metrics as needed to support regional and global L&D reporting requirements
  • Other project work as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

 

Knowledge & Education

  • University degree or college diploma in Business, Human Resources, or related experience
  • Certification in Project Management an asset
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design process, learning evaluation and methods for measuring learning outcomes
  • Proficiency with MS Office 360 applications

 

Work Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a learning and development role
  • Experience in program design / instructional design and managing learning programs
  • Experience in event management/coordination
  • Experience working in complex de-centralized or matrix, multinational organizations an asset
  • Experience working with learning management systems, content authoring tools, and MS Office suite

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Enjoy a "hands-on" approach to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to translate broad or complex concepts into simple, practical terms for all types of audiences
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly when communicating to large groups and to members of senior leadership/executive team
  • Able to work through ambiguity and uncertainty to achieve objectives
  • Ability to consistently work well with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in German or other European language(s) an asset
