Role Summary

Coordinate, oversee and ensure proper material handling and warehousing functions in receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, customer returnable dunnage, materials equipment, and supplies. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate shippers/receiver employees and materials drivers to make sure all items are prepared, shipped, received on time including material delivery to production lines, while complying with company policies. 
  • Supervise personnel to ensure that all customer/supplier trucks are loaded and unloaded in allocated time and following all required procedures, as well as ensure personnel are preparing all shipping and receiving documents in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and update customer’s data base systems for ASN accuracy and returnable packaging.
  • Create packaging proposal, update and maintain customer packaging as per CSR 
  • Generates and implements warehouse improvements in storage solutions, safety, efficiency, inventory accuracy and housekeeping
  • Supervise, train, coach and conduct performance reviews for the Material Handlers, Service packaging Operator and Shippers/Receivers.
  • Effectively manage team for prompt receipt of in-coming purchased items for inventory recognition and control in predetermined multi-location storage.
  • Assists in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years related experience in Automotive Industry and materials warehouse management
  • Minimum 2 year in supervisory position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems and EDI, Shipment processing will be a major part of job duties.
  • Excellent understanding of computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.) 
  • Experience with a fully integrated manufacturing software package a must (Trans4M/SAP a plus).
  • Familiar with customer websites GM, FCA system and Ford-DDL.
  • Must have a valid Fork-lift truck operating license.
  • CTPAT knowledge  
  • Familiar with IATF16949 and ISO 14001.

  • Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
  • Ensure that the most reasonable freight method is used based on cost and timing considerations.
  • Audits Materials Warehouse systems to ensure processes are followed (pre-shifts, incoming audits, yard management).
  • Coordinate repairs and maintain lift trucks and lifting devices, fuel supply station, shipping restraints, docks and doors.
  • Coordinate and maintain scrap scales and scrap activities, general waste, and compactors
