Role Summary

Regulatory Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities

As Compliance Officer (SEZ), You Will Be

Responsible for upkeep of all records and compliance of SEZ activities including:

  • SEZ (Special Economic Zones) and STPI (Software Technology Park of India) related compliance and regulatory filings for the campuses in India as required by the respective Acts.
  • Gist of Contract (GOC) Preparation and filling 
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting (MPR / QPR / APR)
  • Service Export Reporting Form (SERF) Preparation and submission
  • Softex forms preparation and submission
  • Filing of Softex forms with bankers and clearing off in EDPMS (Export Data Processing and Monitoring System)
  • Zone to zone transfer of materials / equipments and employees
  • DTA (Digital Transformation Agency) form submission preparation and approvals
  • DSPF (Data Service Procurement Form) filings
  • Bond and BLUT (Bond Legal Undertaking) renewal paperwork

Responsible for customs and import clearance for all SEZ related imports and equipments including coordination with administration team and vendor:

  • Compliances related to payroll
  • Accounting and reconciliation

Key Qualifications/Requirements

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • Experience of at least 10 to 12 years of operating in the compliance, operational risk or audit department preferably in investment banking/ financial sector
  • Outstanding knowledge of compliance policy framework and procedures including but not limited to personal account trading, outside business interests, anti-bribery, gifts & entertainment, data protection and regulatory landscape
  • Proven ability to understand processes and activities across corporate functions (Risk, Finance, operations, Technology) as well as business divisions, and the inherent risks and control requirements
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of responding to any regulatory inquiries, hands on knowledge of SEZ/ STPI /DoT regulations
  • Consultative approach to business relationship management, proactively sharing “what works best” with others across the Peer Groups
  • Disciplined and detailed in review approach and record retention
  • Proven track record of improving/optimizing processes and implementing solutions for benefit of the organization

Additional Information

  • University degree / Professional Degree with specialization in finance or banking would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience and ability to adapt to and use new technologies and tools is desirable
  • Active listening, organization, time management and relationship management skills
