RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Organize and execute; validation, verification and production performance testing
- Review and execute applicable customer and governmental requirements for validation, verification and production testing
- Perform environmental testing for validation, verification and production of our products, such as vibration, thermal and sealing
- Coordinate construction and destruction of mocked up representation of system components and assemblies
- Perform benchmark studies and establish environmental limits of “prior and mocked up art” as it pertains to our designs. Checks for thermal and structural are included.
- Teardown and destruction of samples, qualifying and quantifying results where possible
- Support the design and coordinate the procurement / manufacture of optical and environmental test fixtures
- Prepare lab reports and documentation for review by the customer and various groups within our organization
- Execute and monitor validation and material test plans
- Root cause analysis of customer returned and production defects
- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve test lab failures
- Preventative Maintenance of Lab equipment
- Cross trained in Photometrics and CMM labs to provide technical support
- Weekly job status report to Resident Engineering and Program Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic knowledge of various measuring instruments
- Flexible work hours (including shifts)
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in a Technical Field would be an asset
- 1-3 years’ experience in an automotive-manufacturing field required
- Proven mechanical and basic electrical knowledge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritizing abilities
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel and learning new software applications
- Ability to work as a team to gather and analyze information
Physical Demands - Ability to sit/stand/ bend/ twist/ reach/ push/ pull as required. Ability to work at a computer/ workstation. Ability to lift different objects (boxes, totes, etc.) max 50lbs.
