 KAMTEK is a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. Role Summary

The function of the Calibration Technician is to ensure Gage and Calibration Systems meet Internal, Customer, and IATF 16949:2016 requirements. The Quality Calibration Technician will assist the Quality Engineering Area Leader and Quality Engineers to ensure Gages, Gage systems, Measuring tools, and Measuring Aids are maintained and calibrated to meet customer’s requirements or known industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Quoting and follow-up with suppliers
  2. Establish calibration procedures for various measurement devices
  3. Ensure gages are acceptable to AIAG MSA 3rd addition
  4. Ensure gages are tracked, calibrated and GagePak system is properly maintained.
  5. Ensure Calibration package is maintained with current CMM Calibration, FLIS, PIN chart and CAP study.
  6. Ensure gages are in good working condition and all component parts are present (provide gage maintenance if needed).
  7. Support Continuous Improvement activities and lean manufacturing processes
  8. Perform Daily Floor Zone Inspection of fixtures for proper use, damage and correlation of Calibration status.
  9. Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized.
  10. Promote good housekeeping
  11. Perform other duties as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Must have good organizational and communication skill

-Must have a basic understanding of computers (GagePak software experience is helpful)

-Must have knowledge of GD&T

-Must have basic understanding of CAD

-Ability to multi-task

-Must display good judgment

Additional Information

 

KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED required

TECHNICAL TRAINING:  Technical training in Calibration, GD&T, MSA

OTHER:  Computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES?  Manufacturing experience with Gage and/or tooling design, layout and suppliers, GD&T experience is required, Gage Design experience preferred

HOW MUCH? Minimum of 2 years
