Role Summary

The Algorithm Development Engineer (Radar) is responsible for development of state-of-the-art radar based real-time environment-modeling and object detection-tracking algorithms for Drive Assistance Systems from concept phase to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement algorithms for core and/or application specific software requirements for automotive embedded electronic module serial production projects. 
  • Test and debug algorithms at component and bench level.
  • Develop software in compliance with a formal ASPICE/CMMI based Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP).
  • Support the rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to algorithms.
  • Perform complex work assignments requiring independent problem solving and decision making, requiring strong software technical competency.
  • Work assignments primarily involve senior/advanced level work and may involve mentoring other algorithm engineers
  • Coordination of integration of core and/or 3rd party algorithms into an application specific software ECU.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science with 4+ years of industry experience; Master’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience

Experience

  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: perception; environment modeling; object detection and tracking; state estimation; sensor fusion; object classification
  • Experience with radar-based algorithms (automotive preferred)
  • Experience with software development in C++ / Python / MATLAB & Simulink
  • Experience with version control tools (Git / Bitbucket)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of analysis and engineering tools (requirement, change and configuration management tools, document control and archiving tools)
  • Deep and comprehensive technical knowledge of product development engineering practices in electronics field.
  • Knowledge of the application and delivery of advanced electronic systems into the automotive industry.
  • Familiar with Automotive SPICE or CMMI.
