Role Summary

The Radar System Architect is responsible for the architectural design of radar systems for various advanced driver assistance applications, like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Warning and Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, etc., as well as working with the project team to realize that architecture.

Key Responsibilities

•    Understand stakeholder requirements and generate system architecture alternatives. 
•    Analyze potential architectures for feasibility, cost, and technical risk. 
•    Collaborate with a wide variety of subject matter experts (RF designers, electrical and mechanical engineers, software developers, experts in cybersecurity and functional safety, etc.) 
•    Establish specification for sub-modules (Antenna, HF-Frontend, ECU, etc.) 
•    Document interface specifications and requirements traceability. 
•    Support validation, verification, and testing efforts. 
•    Communicate with stakeholders, including customers, product management, and the project team. 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Math, or equivalent technical field. 

•    2+ years of experience in systems engineering in a formalized process environment (ISO15288, ISO26262, ASPICE) 
•    General familiarity with radar technology 
•    Previous Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with ADAS or AD applications. 
•    Familiarity with automotive communication standards (CAN, FlexRay, Automotive-Ethernet, AUTOSAR, etc.) 
•    Familiarity with automotive development toolchains (PTC Integrity, Enterprise Architect, DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB-Simulink) 
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills 
•    Able to work with a globally distributed team 
•    Willing to learn and work with new technologies 
•    Ability to travel domestically
