Role Summary

Our autonomy software organization is growing, and we are looking for talented engineers to join our team. The person in this role will be responsible for designing algorithms and implementing perception software for the Object Tracking team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement object-tracking and sensor fusion algorithms for self-driving vehicles.
  • Review literature to determine the state-of-the-art tracking algorithms and identify approaches that fulfill our perception needs. 
  • Design and implement experiments to profile algorithm time/performance characteristics.
  • Design and implement software tools to support testing and evaluation of the perception stack.
  • Test, debug, and maintain reliable, safe, and production quality software.
  • Perform design and code reviews and assist in cross-functional efforts to support software development. 

Key Qualifications/Requirements


  • 2+ years of industry or relevant research / project experience in one or more of the following areas: multi-object tracking; computer vision; state estimation; sensor fusion; machine learning


  • Experience working with one or more perception sensors (radar, camera, lidar, ultrasonics, etc.)
  • Experience with software development in C++, Python (using OOP concepts)
  • Experience with modern software tools and design patterns
  • Experience with Kalman filters or other forms of Bayesian filtering techniquesoft
  • Experience with robotics middleware (ROS, ROS2, LCM, etc.)
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
