Vehtek Systems (a division of Magna International) is located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Vehtek is a Class A automotive stamping and assembly facility manufacturing automotive body system components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 500,000 square foot facility with approximately 1,000 employees. Role Summary
Responsible for ensuring that all safety and environmental standards are maintained and in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations as well as Vehtek Systems and Magna policies. To provide recommendations of corrective measures in a proactive approach to Ergonomic, Safety & Environmental issues at Vehtek Systems.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure Vehtek Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are consistently applied based on the principles of the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Corporate and Divisional Health, Safety and Environmental Policy & Best Practices, as well as being in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations, including OSHA, EPA and ODNR
Ensure a safe work environment by planning, coordinating, developing & implementing health & safety procedures & programs to reduce workplace accidents and protect Team Members
Plan and coordinate internal and external safety training for all Team Members
Perform workplace inspections
Develop & oversee monthly safety and environmental audits and report results to division Leaders
Ensure that the Health and Safety portions of the Action Plan resulting from the Employee Opinion Survey are completed in a timely fashion.
Maintain a high profile with Team Members on the plant floor and be a strong advocate to ensure that Team Member safety, ergonomics and environmental concerns and issues are resolved in a timely manner
Monitor new and amended legislation and remain current with the latest health, safety and environmental requirements
Keep safety boards updated throughout facility and post minutes of Health, Safety and Environmental Committee meetings
Implement, maintain and report on status of the Environmental Management System per ISO-14001 requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Physical demands include the ability to climb ladders, lift up to a weight of 40 pounds.
Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to drive a car and become a licensed fork-lift trainer.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, and State OSHA regulatory compliances & basic knowledge of workers’ compensation laws
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Must be a team player and promote a team approach to problem solving
Highly self motivated and flexible
Must be capable or working under pressure and with short completion times on projects, and of working flexible hours in order to meet both internal and external customer requirements
Able to use computer and software as required
Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact
