Overhead Crane Operator- Midnight Shift

Role Summary

Provide material to work centres to maintain production output in a safe and expedient manner using appropriate material handling equipment within certified skills.

STARTING RATE: $22.74 + Shift Premium

Key Responsibilities

Update/complete all material handling equipment checklists and forwards to

appropriate person/department.

Perform material handling function as part of the die setting team.

Empty scrap container, remove and transport full parts bins to appropriate

location and provide empty parts bins to work stations.

Scan all material each time it is moved to ensure accuracy is maintained.

Weigh all partial used coils and enter into system.

Keep work area organized and participate in the departments housekeeping

efforts pro-actively and as directed.

Use material handling equipment in a diligent, responsible and safe manner.

Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it

effects quality and the environment for our customers.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Less than 1 year of work related experience

Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalency preferred

Certification to operate material handling equipment required

Valid Crane License

Capable of providing the material required in a prioritized manner to ensure continued production flow

Familiar with material handling process in the press department as required for the particular function being performed ie emptying scrap containers, steel coil location, component bin installations to hoppers etc

Automotive experience preferred
