Role Summary

This person is accountable for providing direction and leadership for the Press Operations in a “hands on” capacity to ensure efficient and effective running of stamping presses in priority schedule, tool and die problem solving. 

STARTING RATE: $28.37 + Shift Premium

Key Responsibilities

Co-ordinate the activities of the Press Operators, Material Handlers, Toolroom, and Maintenance to ensure efficient running of the stamping presses 

Assist with loading tools, coils and set ups in presses when necessary 

Verify scrap and set up times. 

Ensure tools & dies are run in order of scheduled priority 

Direct the training of new employees 

Monitor Press Operators’ performance and provide feedback 

Take an active role to ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all Press Operators  

Work on continuously improving die set ups to ensure quick die change practices and procedures are followed 

Monitor operator performance per white board count and advise supervisor if performance is below standard 

Participate in the performance review process for Press Operators 

Follow and direct team to ensure quality procedures/standards are met 

Communicate with Toolroom Team Leader/Toolmakers to continuously improve tool performance 

Participate actively in department/company improvement activities (i.e Business centres/white boards) 

Conduct regular (Next Operation As Customer ) NOAC meetings 

Ensure 5S standards upheld & continually improved 

Follow and directs the team to adhere to department/company procedures 

Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers 

In absence of Stamping Supervisor, assumes responsibilities 

Maintain confidentiality 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

No educational requirement 

3 to less than 5 years of work related experience 

Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency preferred  

Valid Forklift operator certification preferred
