Role Summary

The Advanced Quality Planning Manager (Cosma International) is responsible to work with various Cosma divisions on critical launches and to work with cross functional teams (product engineering, divisional project teams, SME’s), as a facilitator, in the development of PFMEA documents. The APQP Manager is also responsible to analyze Cosma processes to identify the potential risk to product quality, and drive process improvements. 

 

Key Responsibilities

•    Monitors progress on program launches for the programs identified as critical
•    Participates in CPMP (Cosma APQP process) gate reviews for the programs identified as critical
•    Facilitate meetings with cross functional teams to develop / maintain / update baseline PFMEA’s for the main core Cosma processes
•    Communicate globally the core baseline PFMEA
•    Follow-up with divisions to ensure that proper product / process controls are in place based on risk analysis
•    Follow-up with divisions to make sure that Cosma initiatives are integrated into new or existing processes
•    Work with selected divisions on developing their PFMEA
•    Lead divisional reviews of the PFMEA and the Control Plans
•    Participate in Spill Detection events at plants
•    Audit the Safe Launch activities at selected plants
•    Support and facilitate the resolution of user / system / data issues on working with the FMEA software solution
•    Lead teams without direct reporting relationships
•    Support the global team in their request for data and data interpretation
•    Manage multiple projects among global and regional teams
•    Participate in professional development to enhance team performance when requested
•    Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements as they relate to the job function.
•    Follow and comply with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (i.e., IATF 16949, ISO14001)
•    Understand, promote, and live by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter.

•    Perform other duties as required
 

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics or mathematics
•    Minimum 7 years work-related experience in an automotive environment
•    In-depth knowledge of AIAG core tools
•    In-depth knowledge of PFMEA (AIAG/VDA)
•    Working knowledge of welding, stamping and assembly
•    Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
•    Effective verbal and written communication & presentation skills
•    Intense attention to details with considerable analytical work
•    Must be proficient in computer use, programs like EXCEL, Minitab, PowerBI including Statistical Techniques & methodologies
•    Ability to prioritize multiple demands
•    Ability to work independently without constant supervision
•    Ability to uphold confidentiality.
•    Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
•    Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
