Key Responsibilities

•    Interpret die layouts and die designs and translate design intent into required manufacturing process to complete a line up of automotive stamping tools.
•    Determine machining process and define areas of dies to be machined.
•    Required to create basic and complex fully surfaced models on CAD system.
•    Provide technical support to Machining, Fitting, and Engineering Departments throughout the die manufacturing process.
•    Maintain documentation record of complete die program.
•    Prepare reports and communicate all required information to appropriate parties as required or applicable.
•    Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions.
•    Perform other reasonable duties as required and assigned.
•    Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees  - Addendum

Key Qualifications/Requirements


•    Minimum 3 Years’ shop floor experience preferred
•    Post-Secondary technical certificate, license or equivalent experience preferred
•    Full working knowledge of die-surfacing using Tebis, or equivalent software
•    Knowledge of CAM, CNC machining and die making methods an asset
•    Knowledge in reverse engineering from scan meshes (STL data) considered an asset
•    Administer CAD data to meet internal and external requirements
•    Good Mechanical Aptitude
•    Basic Math and Computer Skills
•    Ability to interpret blueprints
•    Good communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
•    Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
•    Orientation, WHMIS, Fire Extinguisher Training, Smirtware, Tebis, 5S, 4DX, QEMS, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Awareness training (see EMS training matrix).
