Role Summary

MASSIV Automated Systems,  an advanced technology based division of Magna International Inc., specializes in the design and build of automated / robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry.   Our areas of expertise include hemming (robotic and table top), laser welding, and assembly line welding.  Our customers include other divisions within Magna and the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as General Motors, Chrysler and Ford. 
We are a true global supplier to the automotive industry!  Our assembly lines provide a diverse range of automotive products such as doors, hoods, liftgates and underbody parts to customers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe.

The Shipper / Receiver is responsible for shipping/receiving activities and co-ordinating transportation of materials, while managing the timely flow of customer orders.

Key Responsibilities

•    Responsible for all shipping/receiving activities, including weighing bins, checking bill of lading, ensuring proper tagging, preparing shipping & customs paperwork
•    Plan and co-ordinate transportation of materials and manage the timely flow of customer orders
•    Keep accurate account records of items entering or leaving stock rooms
•    Accountable for the accuracy and organization of job shelves
•    Complete orders by selecting goods from shelves and checking them off appropriate lists
•    Responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks
•    Place goods in bins and on racks or stack bulky items on floor
•    Move heavy packages using forklift machinery
•    Complete orders by selecting goods from shelves and checking them off appropriate lists
•    Arranges transportation and forwarding services for all orders to ensure material is delivered as per schedule
•    Obtain details of the location and quantity of items in stock using visual display units or computers
•    Maintains racks and shipping yard
•    Responsible for receiving goods at shipping/receiving locations
•    Responsible for the organization and accuracy of job boxes according to BOM in a timely manner
•    Responsible to bring all goods to Mezzanine area for signature of receipt
•    Organize and maintain records, files & related documents for incoming and outgoing goods
•    Prepare Canadian Custom Documents for foreign shipments
•    Organize and arrange trucking and special equipment for pickups and deliveries
•    When required, load transport vehicles, making sure loads are evenly and securely placed
•    Responsible for identification of parts, purchases and guarantee of received goods
•    Report to Supervisor and/or Program Manager any problems with incoming/outgoing shipments
•    Responsible for removal of scrap metal, wood cardboard, garbage and other wastes generated
•    Supply bins to all vendors and ensure that any returnable dunnage is returned to the appropriate vendor
•    Maintain regular communication with Purchasing Department Manager or assigned designee
•    Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner and know how to properly lock out all energy sources, including stored energy.
•    Consult your Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor if you are not 100% sure of how to perform tasks in a safe manner.
•    Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas.
•    Know what types of Personal Protective Equipment are required for the jobs in your area and always use them properly.
•    Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products.
•    Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements.
•    Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products are supplied to our customers.
•    Perform other related duties as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Minimum of 3years’ experience in shipping and receiving
•    Proficient knowledge of customs related requirements (importing and exporting of various goods to and from various destinations
•    Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy 
•    Capable of working as a team member and individually
•    Valid driver's license required
•    Good communication skills
•    Good organizational skills
•    Good mathematical skills
