Role Summary

Main duties:

  • Launch the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process with nominated suppliers for all new components, materials or sub-contract services.
  • Maintain regular APQP reviews and act upon or escalate any identified concerns.
  • Support the Supplier in ensuring that the APQP process is fully delivered in a professional fashion according to timing plan and Project expectations.
  • Establish and communicate quality targets for suppliers applicable during the development and ongoing series production.
  • Provide KPI data to demonstrate Supplier quality management.
  • Maintain and Manage Magna’s Online Supplier Quality Portals (eRFX. QPF)
  • Manage 3rd party inspection services and on-site suppliers

Key Responsibilities

  • Point of contact for Plant Supplier quality concerns. (Stock sorts, NCMR, Cost recovery, 8D process)
  • Ensure timely presentation by suppliers of PSW/ PPAP submissions and evidence files including run at rate events.
  • Create and manage supplier readiness /safe launch plan for new model introduction
  • Manage and conduct Supplier Audits according to IATF / Magna standards
  • Manage the Customer B2B portal to achieve timely input of 8D responses
  • 8D Root cause analysis management, both Internal and Customer / OEM levels.
  • Manage and improve the MAFACT process and result
  • Support Buyers in connection with New Supplier selection and production transfers

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Time management and prioritisation skills. Self motivated
  • Be able to influence key personnel in the Supplier’s new project delivery teams.
  • Be able to understand Specifications and Quality deliverables.
  • Full driving licence and availability to travel to suppliers including those in Europe.
  • Be able to construct status reports (data management) and initiate corrective actions. Management reporting. Competence in XL / PPT is essential
  • Candidate must have automotive supplier quality management experience and understand APQP / PPAP process.

Qualifications: Engineering / Quality related qualifications, HND, Degree, NVQ, CQ1.
