Role Summary

he Maintenance Engineer is responsible for driving asset reliability in the facility. They are responsible for ensuring the correct preventative and predictive measures are being taken to achieve asset reliability goals (uptime, availability, etc). They will also be responsible for ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions are established for the top issues impacting reliability. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze asset reliability data to help management make decision regarding resource allocation
  • Support department manager in the development of the employees skills 
  • Lead all RCA activities resulting from reliability gaps
  • Work with suppliers to improve internal technical skills
  • Work with suppliers to ensure proper maintenance is being performed on all assets
  • Ownership of all PM and PdM tasks – approval of any and all changes and updates to PM’s and PdM actions
  • Ensures proper training of technicians for all PM’s and PdM actions
  • Responsible for ensuring training of technicians in regards to proper repair techniques 
  • Ownership of the TPM program – ensures tasks are given to appropriate employee levels, training documents exist, and work instructions are created 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Information

Communication Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • The main language proficiency shall be in the English language.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  •  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
  •  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and offer reasonable solutions towards corrective action.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Includes office and manufacturing plant. Must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees of all departments, management, customers and suppliers. Must be able to work flex time in order to cover all three shifts, and work additional hours as required.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma, GED 
  • Engineering degree strongly preferred
  • Technical trades certificate acceptable 
  • Experience with reliability concepts
