Division Description
Cosma Castings Michigan (CCMI)- a division of Magna International- is located in Battle Creek, Michigan. We are a casting and assembly facility that manufactures automotive body components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda, and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 300,000-square-foot facility with approximately 500 employees. Summary of Responsibilities
Toolmakers support manufacturing operations by producing, maintaining, and repairing all tooling and related machinery, including precision tools like jigs, molds, and dies.
You will be working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on safety and quality. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of the position
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Repair and maintain production tools and dies
- Construct new tools and dies as required
- Verify conformance of machined or repaired dies to specifications by checking dimensions, clearances, and alignments.
- Troubleshoot problems during production
- Modify dies to conform to engineering changes; conduct tryouts of new dies
- Work on blueprints, sketches, and written and verbal instructions
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints, and files in an orderly fashion
- Operate lift truck, overhead crane, floor scrubber, and equipment to wash dies
- Obtain training for professional development and stay current on tooling and safety requirements
- Complete correspondence, forms, and reports using personal computer and required software
- Attain safety, quality, and productivity goals
