Mould Maintenance Technician

This position is for Magna Lighting- Autosystems, a division of Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting. 

Magna Lighting is a leader in the innovation and production of lighting systems. Our expertise lies in product creation, design, engineering, testing, validation, and manufacture of headlamps, tail lamps, and other lighting. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all assigned Mould Repair Orders are logged into the CMMS system and completed in a timely manner;
  • Work with Production Supervisors to prioritize tool repairs when required on night shifts and weekend;
  • Maintain all spare parts for tools and necessary operating supplies for areas as assigned;
  • Maintain tool drawings and specific tool repair procedures for each tool;
  • Inspect new tools with tooling engineers to ensure that tools are built to required standards;
  • Any reasonable requests by management, perform other duties as assigned;
  • Keep accurate records of changes and maintenance on moulds;
  • Complete routine preventative maintenance on moulds and related equipment;
  • Fabricate and maintain fixtures;
  • Maintain End of Arm (EOA) tooling.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Licensed Mould Maker, Millwright, Tool & Die Maker or Machinist required;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a related field with a strong technical background required.

Experience

  • Familiar with and have a good understanding of industrial processes and machinery;
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems;
  • Comfortable working around equipment/machinery;
  • Familiar with and understand the requirements to lockout equipment;
  • strong planning/organizational skills;
  • self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks with minimal supervison;
  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent time-management skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Ability to adapt to different situations;
  • Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic aptitude;
  • Basic computer skills.
