MRO Junior Buyer

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Department Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of MEB as listed below:

 

Specific Job Duties:

 

  • Create material requisitions, purchase orders, and RFQ’s to meet departmental requirements.

  • Interview and work closely with vendors to obtain and develop desired products.

  • Establish sources to ensure continuous supply and availability of commodities.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing/terms and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain inventory and re-order points to ensure uninterrupted service to all departments.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner and coordinate goods returned for credit, repair, or replacement.
  • Establish supplier lead time, consumption rates, lot sizes, and shipping parameters.
  • Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and maintain up to date contracts/records.
  • Track MRO spend and pricing to develop cost saving opportunities.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure that goods are delivered on time and evaluate accuracy of invoices and receipts.
  • Work with departments to strategically stock and refill consumable stations throughout plant.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels (verbal and written).
  • Effective negotiator with problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects while meeting critical timing schedules.

 

 

Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of purchasing related experience demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
  • Must maintain excellent communications skills working with customers, suppliers and the entire organizational team.
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Must be highly motivated and comfortable with change.
