About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor is to provide assistance to the Maintenance Department Manager in a way that supports the Magna Charter, Corporate Constitution, customers, investors and employees. He/She will support the departmental leadership and Team Members to successfully meet goals and objectives by providing guidance, technical expertise and resources needed in order to be safe and productive. He/She will provide supervision and direction to the Maintenance Technicians in the Assembly department area assigned to them ensuring that the Customer, People and Investor goals are balanced and met. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all team members’ safety and well-being, overall development and supervision of Team Leaders and Team Members, health and safety, quality, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline.
Your Responsibilities
- Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO
- Ensure daily pre-shift inspections are completed, conduct unplanned inspection audits on a weekly basis and planned inspection audits once a month
- Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuations routes correcting any safety concerns immediately
- Ensure weekly safety talks in pre-shift meetings are being conducted with team members signing safety training acknowledgement form
- Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies and the Employee’s Charter
- Schedule, supervise, coordinate and direct the activities of skilled trade team members to ensure that production levels and quality standards are met
- Develop programs for record retention, continuous improvement, build standards and job training.
- Establish and maintain effective communications with all other departments as well as conduct all business activities in a professional manner
- Plan and direct the utilization of resources to achieve the most effective results
- Supervise all skilled trade team members in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter, policies and procedures set out in the Kamtek Team Member Handbook
- Act on behalf of the Department Manager in their absence, likewise assume the full role of the Team Leader in their absence
Who we are looking for
- Strong technical background;
- Excellent automation / robotics equipment knowledge;
- Excellent maintenance knowledge regarding industrial automated facility equipment in an automotive Class-A stampings and assemblies facility.
- Maintenance skills
- Strong in root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures
- Understanding of customer requirements
- Research methods, techniques and/or source information
- Preventative and Predictive Maintenance best practices.
- Excellent understanding of Kamtek’s Associate Hand Book and Policies (Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft/PC skills
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Your preferred qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 5 years’ experience; or Technical Apprenticeship with Certification or Journeyman Card; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Training
Journeyman Certification. General knowledge of industrial maintenance.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with a strong background in industrial maintenance/heavy metal stamping, previous leadership roles is preferred.
