 KAMTEK is a premier Tier 1, automotive manufacturing supplier that specializes in Class “A” Stamping, Assembly and High Pressure Die Casting that produces Body-side and Door Openings, Roofs, Floor Pans, Wheelhouses, Large Welded Assemblies, Doors, Fenders, Hoods, Lift-gates, Aluminum Shock Towers, and Aluminum Rear Rails. About the Role

To provide assistance to the Maintenance Department Manager in a way that supports the Magna Charter, Corporate Constitution, customers, investors and employees. He/She will support the departmental leadership and Team Members to successfully meet goals and objectives by providing guidance, technical expertise and resources needed in order to be safe and productive.  He/She will provide supervision and direction to the Maintenance Technicians in the Cradles department area assigned to them ensuring that the Customer, People and Investor goals are balanced and met. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all team members’ safety and well-being, overall development and supervision of Team Leaders and Team Members, health and safety, quality, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Follow and comply with all plant safety standards including LOTO
  2. Ensure daily pre-shift inspections are completed, conduct unplanned inspection audits on a weekly basis and planned inspection audits once a month
  3. Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuations routes correcting any safety concerns immediately
  4. Ensure weekly safety talks in pre-shift meetings are being conducted with team members signing safety training acknowledgement form
  5. Understand and promote Magna’s philosophies and the Employee’s Charter
  6. Schedule, supervise, coordinate and direct the activities of skilled trade team members to ensure that production levels and quality standards are met
  7. Develop programs for record retention, continuous improvement, build standards and job training.
  8. Establish and maintain effective communications with all other departments as well as conduct all business activities in a professional manner
  9. Plan and direct the utilization of resources to achieve the most effective results
  10. Supervise all skilled trade team members in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter, policies and procedures set out in the Kamtek Team Member Handbook
  11. Act on behalf of the Department Manager in their absence, likewise assume the full role of the Team Leader in their absence

Who we are looking for

KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATION: 

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 5 years’ experience; or Technical Apprenticeship with Certification or Journeyman Card; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

WHAT TYPES?  Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with a strong background in industrial maintenance/heavy metal stamping, previous leadership role is preferred

HOW MUCH?  Minimum of 5 years

Your preferred qualifications

  • Applicable laws, rules, regulations and/or policies and procedures;
  • Familiar with Magna / Cosma HR Systems; (ADP time cards, vacations, scheduling, progressive discipline)
  • Strong technical background;
  • Excellent automation / robotics equipment knowledge;
  • Excellent maintenance knowledge regarding industrial automated facility equipment in an automotive Class-A stampings and assemblies facility.
  • Maintenance skills
  • Strong in root cause analysis and implementation of countermeasures
  • Understanding of customer requirements
  • Research methods, techniques and/or source information

Preventative and Predictive Maintenance best practices.
