PURPOSE OF POSITION:  

To develop TPM (Total Production Maintenance) system within the Assembly Department in coordination with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to achieve world class manufacturing. Analyze data using Tabware, CMS, parts inventory, and build standards to support continuous improvement opportunities.  


RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: 

Responsible for scheduling and tracking of TPM Activities from basic 5S to preventive/predictive maintenance TPM coordination for plant equipment. Coordinate and track project activities and ensure all parts and tools are available for the projects.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

1)    Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. 
2)    Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs
3)    Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles, including:

4)    Administer the TPM planning module in Tabware
5)    Maintain TPM schedule for critical equipment
6)    Coordinate TPM with preventive maintenance system
7)    Coordinate TPM with predictive maintenance system
8)    Assist with the set up and maintenance of TS16949 and Q1 requirements
9)    Support/assist with preventive maintenance scheduling
10)     Support maintenance with spare parts inventory
11)     Support continuous improvement, TPM, and lean manufacturing processes 
12)     Daily interaction with Production, Maintenance, Engineering & Vendor’s
13)     Work with contractors on projects as needed.
14)    Responsible for Training and Education of TPM / Lean initiatives
15)     Work closely with other departments to schedule and communicate events
16)    Support continuous improvement 
17)     Support transition to Autonomous maintenance
18)      Perform other duties as required.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

SKILL (Ability to do the job)

•    Ability to work in a team environment
•    Must have a working knowledge of basic drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
•    Must have a basic understanding of TPM practices and functions
•    Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
•    Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, or flexible hours as required to meet production needs
•    Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
•    Must have basic computer knowledge
•    Must have good analytical skills
•    Ability to oversee projects from start to finish


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.


EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED

Some of the equipment and tools used are: Computers, telephone, 2-way radio, copier/printer, hand tools

KNOWLEDGE

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree from accredited technical college is preferred, or equivalent experience

TECHNICAL TRAINING:

OTHER:  Computer skills; Basic Microsoft Word and Excel, AutoCAD

WHAT TYPES?  Strong technical background; previous experience with field-driven computer systems and inventory control
        
HOW MUCH?  Minimum 3 years in heavy industrial environment
