Group Summary

 

Vehtek Systems (a division of Magna International) is located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Vehtek is a Class A automotive stamping and assembly facility manufacturing automotive body system components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda and other aftermarket customers. We operate a 500,000 square foot facility with approximately 1,000 employees. About the Role

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procurement of goods and services, performing supplier management by developing supply sources, and ensure that the minimum level of inventory for allocated commodities are maintained without jeopardizing the continuity of scheduled production within the customer's release schedules. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain vendor file, purchase price, price fluctuations and quality records on purchased items.
  • Insourcing, outsourcing, and resourcing parts as required.
  • Expedite operations to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Identify alternate sources of materials and cost reductions for current suppliers.
  • Works with Customer Requirements and Engineering to negotiate procurement contracts. Upon implementation, Buyer is responsible for managing the purchasing in accordance with those agreements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for

  • Able to work flexible hours supporting three (3) shifts.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers.
  • Excellent understanding of MS Office software, ERP System, internet and customer supplied software.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Four (4) year college degree in a business-related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in automotive purchasing.
  • Advanced PC skills with standard MS Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
