About the Role

 

Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthful workplace and keeping tooling maintained to produce quality products.  Also responsible for continuous improvement of tooling, housekeeping, making informed decisions, and having tooling ready for production runs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles
  • Tig and Mig weld and hand working parts of die (heat treat of materials)
  • Assist in determining spare parts requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation
  • Recommend modifications to existing tooling
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
  • Ensure quality product and know quality procedures
  • Program CNC Machines using offline G-Code software
  • Perform duties according to blueprints, CAD data, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Perform other duties as required.

Who we are looking for

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education preferred, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Operate standard office equipment preferred
  • General knowledge of troubleshooting, materials and methods, machines and tools, practical application of Engineering Science 
  • Die building experience a plus
  • Basic knowledge in automation

These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Team members will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Previous set-up and programming experience a plus
  • Experience in Tig and Mig welding preferred
  • CAD/Blueprint reading and shop match preferred
