Role Summary

Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthful workplace and keeping tooling maintained to produce quality products.  Also responsible for continuous improvement of tooling, housekeeping, making informed decisions, and having tooling ready for production runs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
  2. Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles.
  3. Tig and Mig weld and hand working parts of die (heat treat of materials).
  4. Assist in determining spare parts requirements.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation.
  6. Recommend modifications to existing tooling.
  7. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
  8. Ensure quality product and know quality procedures.
  9. Program CNC Machines using offline G-Code software.
  10. Perform duties according to blueprints, CAD data, sketches and verbal instructions.
  11. Perform other duties as required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education preferred, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Previous set-up and programming experience a plus
  • Experience in Tig and Mig welding preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, CAD/Blueprint reading and shop match preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Operate standard office equipment preferred
  • General knowledge of troubleshooting, materials and methods, machines and tools, practical application of Engineering Science preferred
  • Die building experience a plus
  • Basic knowledge in automation
