Vehtek Systems (a division of Magna International) is located in Bowling Green, Ohio. Vehtek is a Class A automotive stamping and assembly facility manufacturing automotive body system components for GM, Ford, FCA, Honda and other aftermarket customers. Maintenance Technician
Summary of Responsibilities:
To support manufacturing operations by maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing all facilities and manufacturing equipment in a safe and orderly fashion as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
- Troubleshoot plant facilities and production equipment problems
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion
- Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements
- Complete all work in accordance with OSHA, NEC, JIC and DNR standards and regulations
- Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
- Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
- Attend training as required
- Handle confidential information on a regular basis
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
- Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education and Experience
-
High school diploma or GED required

Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing environment as a machine repair/electrician and/or Journeyman card in maintenance/electrical

Associate’s Degree in Machine Repair or Electrical preferred
Qualifications
-
Be able to read Hydraulic & Electrical blueprints
-
Be able to troubleshoot electrical issues using a multimeter. Ex… (Verify blown fuse, Check motor leads for failure.)

Capable to mechanically troubleshoot and repair. Ex… (Gear box replacement, bearing replacement)

Experienced in Hydraulic & Pneumatic system troubleshooting & repair

Welding experience a plus

Machining experience a plus

Press experience a plus

Daily work includes Continuous improvement of equipment, troubleshooting and effectively making corrections where deficiencies are found

Component failures are part of the daily unscheduled tasks
Additional Information

The work environment is primarily manufacturing plant and is characterized by temperature extremes; loud noise and considerable tow motor traffic.

The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.

Job responsibilities include heavy lifting (80 pounds), working at heights of 40 to 60 feet and in confined spaces

Personal tools may be required

Must be able to work overtime as required (every other weekend at minimum)
