Role Summary
This position is responsible for the preparation, communicating and monitoring of the division’s production and raw material schedules, schedule and coordinate shipments of production material inbound and/or outbound ensuring customer requirements and inventory policies are met. They are also responsible for the documentation and accuracy of the division’ in house inventory as well as monitoring inventory systems, driver training and bill of material maintenance. This position supports all aspects of Material Planning, Shipping/Receiving and inventory control.

- Contribute to continuous improvement, problem solving, corrective actions and cost reduction activities to assist BGM in meeting targets and goals.
- Establish and maintain communication with other departments.
- Utilize information and training provided to make material scheduling decisions.
- Support Material Planners or other Material Coordinators to balance workload as required.
- Monitor and repair vendor EDI and react to delayed shipments.
- Send and monitor ASN’s and maintain all cum records to ensure part quantities and communications are accurate.
- Monitor physical inventory levels, as they relate to SAP inventory levels, engineering changes, process improvements, shrinkage, and scrap.
- Communicate potential shortages or issues with supplier or production-related materials (expedites, non-conformances, etc.).
- Goods receipts, material movements and goods issues for material that is not received through normal means (prototype, non-ASNed production, problem ASN).
- Ensure that shipping documentation is prepared in accordance with BGM procedures.
- Maintain record retention of BOL and customer documentation.
- Organize and coordinate floor level activities for ECN changes, prototype builds, and other special activities.
- Monitor customer releases to ensure BGM is up to schedule and customers do not have any shortages.
- Arrange all pick-ups and deliveries including expedites to determine carrier, times and the dock location that we will receive them on.
- Train new Material Coordinators in essential duties of the position. .
- Perform other duties as required.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Post-secondary degree preferred in materials/logistics field, or related experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Operate standard office equipment preferred
- Planning, Press scheduling preferred
- Material Management background preferred
- SAP Experience preferred
- Organizational skills
- Problem solving
- Mathematical skills
