Role Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot assembly fixtures, performing preventative and predictive maintenance on all installed equipment to minimize downtime keeping safety as a priority. Provide training and technical support to assembly and maintenance team members.

Maintain assembly lines and other tooling to improve processes resulting in increased productivity and quality parts.
Monitor and maintain good housekeeping.
Tig and Mig welding and hand working parts of assembly line (heat treat of materials).
Establish and maintain communication with team members and other departments.
Ensure spare parts requirements and maintain correct inventory levels.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Recommend modifications to existing equipment. 
Monitor spare parts requirements to continuously improve process.
Maintain accurate documentation resulting in shared knowledge of issues and lessons learned.
Train and support assembly team members and lesser advanced Tool & Die team members.
Ensure equipment meets NEC, OSHA, and Magna regulations.
Perform PM inspections as required, complete with all repairs.
Minimize downtime by effective use of resources including response time, technical expertise, tools, spare parts and external contacts.
Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
Maintain and troubleshoot Cognex camera and Perceptron.
Perform other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education and/or Experience:
Completed apprenticeship program in tool and die preferred
High School diploma or GED
Post-secondary education preferred, or related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use all tool room equipment and measuring tools
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Must have a good understanding of assembly line operations and functions
Ability to weld and restore tooling to original condition
Must be willing to work extended or flexible hours as needed
Must have basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)
Must be adaptable to change 
Must be able to provide own tools
Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Office and General factory environment 
Able to be flexible in hours of work on short notice in order to meet internal/external customer requirements (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.)
Possible Shift Work
Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.
