About the Role

To plan, coordinate, and direct training and staff development programs for the organization with support from leadership team. This person supports all team member relations and Human Resources policies, programs, and practices and works with the Human Resources Department Leader to provide HR support and guidance to all team members.  This position will need to work on different shifts as needed to complete training.

Your Responsibilities

  • Know and understand Bowling Green Metalforming Quality and Environmental policies.
  • Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles.
  • Delivers, schedules, evaluates, and documents training as required to meet all customer/division/corporate/ legislative needs. 
  • Develop, implement, and manage new hire orientation. 
  • Manage LMS and track employee success aligning with KPI’s.
  • Assess training needs through a variety of methods, job descriptions, surveys, interviews with team members, and focus groups.   
  • Understands e-learning techniques, and where relevant, and implements training KPI’s.
  • Provide support and mentoring for new employees while conducting an evaluation and identifying sections where improvements are needed.
  • Develop systems to monitor and ensure employees are performing their responsibilities according to the training.
  • Develops, maintains, monitors, and reviews the progress of trainees through various methods (questionnaires, audits, etc.) and discussions with Training Department Leaders.
  • Assists team members in the development of personal education and manages team members training requests as per the guidelines of the Company’s Education Assistance Program.
  • Maintains policies, procedures, training manuals/guides, and course material, hand-outs, etc. associated with training/education. 
  • Maintains all training records/skills inventory databases and matrices.
  • Prepare teaching plans, develop instructional materials, and ensure employees' growth aligns with company goals.
  • Track employee’s success and progress is aligned with KPI’s. 
  • Implement training KPI’s.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Who we are looking for

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years’ training experience minimum

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel 
  • Minimum of 3-year experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment 
  • Presentation capability in front of audience

These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Team members will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Post-secondary education preferred in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Sciences or equivalent experience.
