Senior Staff Accountant

About the Role

• Record journal entries and conduct analysis of general ledger accounts
• Maintain and review cost standards, reviews inventory variance reports and manufacturing absorption analysis reports.
• Responsible for cost and inventory accounting of the division by collecting, tracking, calculating cost information and BOM and Routing reviews.
• Maintain GL system, including user security, chart of account maintenance
• Interface with Corporate analysts and specialists
• Responsible for tracking scrap and scrap reconciliation
• Perform Onestream upload and generate reports

Your Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and statistical reports, as well as develop reporting enhancements and other financial reports as required
• Stay up to date on operational performance developments to understand impact on financial forecast
• Identify operational issues affecting forecast and financial reporting
• Investigate anomalies such as pricing discrepancies, forecast vs. actual variances
• Assist in special projects as they arise
• Property, Sales and Use Tax
• Insurance surveys, claim filing, certificate requests
• Year End Audit Preparation

Who we are looking for

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• • Bachelor Degree with accounting emphasis; Minimum 3 – 5 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications; Advance knowledge of Excel required

Your preferred qualifications

• Needs to have a solid understanding of AR, AP, Cash, Fixed Asset, Cost Accounting and General Ledger transactions
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Team player, strong work ethic, close attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Must demonstrate initiative, job ownership, and excellent problem-solving skills, desire to improve processes, willingness to participate in continuous improvement, motivated to take on additional responsibilities.
