Role Summary

This position is for Massiv Die-Form, a division of Cosma International.

Key Responsibilities

•    Build / Setup tooling for operators.
•    Offer tooling advice for nonstandard machining applications. 
•    Research and testing for tooling upgrades / improvements
•    Investigate more efficient machining strategies new and existing applications.
•    Design reviews and CI to simplify machining applications for WWO and TWO dies.
•    Process improvement implementation.
•    Tooling cost savings initiatives. 
•    Root cause analysis for damaged or heavily worn tooling  
•    Tooling cataloging for VLM
•    Monitoring tooling usage via Vending machine tooling reports
•    Tool parameter research to define Tebis library templates
•    Managing tool regrinding and refurbishing to minimize new purchases
•    Investigate and Implementation of tooling / Process CI’s 
•    Machine issue investigation / Root causing
•    Training  staff
•    Read/interpret CAD accurately using smirtware.
•    Process work to be performed.
•    Follow and participate in 4DX activities 
•    Follow and participate in 5S activities
•    Set up, program, and operate CNC Milling Machines accurately and efficiently.
•    Select appropriate cutting tools as required.
•    Perform quality checks on an ongoing basis to ensure product is within tolerance. 
•    Set example for and provide continuous training to machine apprentices and fellow employees as assigned.
•    Fill out machine/ job log book & lemoine system on a daily basis and communicate necessary information to Leadhands and co-workers from shift to shift.
•    Run multiple machines as required
•    Perform PM's on milling machines.
•    Operate overhead crane.
•    Responsible for applicable QEMS policies, procedures and work instructions
•    Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
•    Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Employees  - Addendum


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Recognized certificate of Qualification as a machinist preferred 
  • Proficient in the use of Mecof 
  • Crane/Forklift experience an asset
  • Good Communication skills, attendance, and performance required.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Additional Information

  • ​​​​​​Rotating shift work
  • Overtime may be required at times.
  • Day or overnight travel may be required.
  • Must acquire Machinist Tools.
