Your New Role
The Weld Engineer is responsible for overseeing the welding processes for a large manufacturing facility. Proficient knowledge in programming, robotic welding, and a solid background in manufacturing processes is a must.
What You Will Need To Succeed:
- Welding Technologist Diploma and/or a Welding Engineer degree
- 5 – 7 years robotic welding and programming experience in the manufacturing industry or demonstrated equivalent knowledge
- Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Comfortable with analyzing data and identifying trends
- Excellent communication/presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of Blueprint reading
As a Welding Engineer, You Will:
- Trend quality of welds using various measurable tools (i.e. Defect Monitoring, Weld Health charts, I-charts etc.)
- Ensures quality of RSW, GMAW, RPW, and FCAW welds according to Deco and/or customers’ specifications
- Defect monitoring, cross section analysis, trouble shooting of mechanical equipment and input parameters
- Review trends and Lead Weld improvement meetings to generate positive weld improvements
- Lead and represent as “Deco resident weld expert” in front of the customer and complete all necessary documents to meet customer expectations
- Promote health & safety, high product quality and continuous improvement.
- Work within the guidelines of the Deco Employee Handbook and safety rules
- Other duties as may be required
