Role Summary

The CAD Engineer is responsible for the management of the RFQ process regarding CAD data, IMDS requirements, PFMEA process and ensuring that that all CAD data is updated and accurate. The incumbent of this position also maintains and distributes CAD data to all parties within the organization and supply base where applicable.

The CAD Engineer is also responsible for supporting the RFQ process, tooling process and APQP process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management of the RFQ process regarding CAD data processing and blank development.
  • Responsible for the management of process flowchart and PFMEA updates.
  • Responsible for the management of IMDS.
  • Supports APQP tooling process – design and product launch engineering change process.
  • Create part layouts for initial quotation.
  •  

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Successful completion of Engineering degree or equivalent experience. 
  • A broad level of experience with related manufacturing processes.
  • An understanding of Quality requirements in metal stampings & welding.
  • The ability to interact with Customers Engineering Department.
  • Good organizational, leadership, interpersonal & problem-solving skills.
  • Physically capable to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Ability to read & write English fluently.

Additional Information

  • Maintain drawings as per Maple Stamping policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and create approved engineering product changes per Engineering policy and procedures.
  • Interface with Vehma for CAD data, print transfer and other relevant customer information.
  • Maintain and distribute CAD data, drawing, other information to outside suppliers and Maple Stamping personnel.
  • Archive Engineering documents as specified in procedure.
