Role Summary

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for accuracy of any scanning: shipments, inventory transfers, receipts.

Responsible for creating and transmitting ASN’s within time limits set by customer and the required follow up to ensure received by customer with no errors.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Generate daily pick sheets, packing slips and bill of lading to meet required shipping schedules. Audit paperwork before releasing shipment.
  • Validate accuracy of paperwork and receive into Trans4M where required. Report all discrepancies.
  • Completes inventory of empty containers as required.
  • Ensures that empties are being loaded onto trailers and shipped to the appropriate locations in a timely manner to minimize machine down time.
  • Ensure warehouse organization and housekeeping is maintained.
  • Responsible for accuracy of any scanning: shipments, inventory transfers, receipts.
  • Responsible for creating and transmitting ASN’s within time limits set by customer and the required follow up to ensure received by customer with no errors.
  • Responsible for safe loading and unloading of trucks following work instructions. Ensure wheels are chocked (manual or auto).
  • Receive components, raw materials, empties and packaging materials.
  • Always keep the outside areas clean and unobstructed. Follow up on any deficiencies. 
  • Report any safety hazards immediately. Ensure that exits, aisle ways and doors are never blocked. 
  • Do not put anything into the non-specified areas without notifying the respective Supervisor. 
  • Communicate information from one shift to the next.

  • Report all employee concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Follows instructions of Shipper/Receiver Lead Hand and/or Shipping Supervisor and/or Logistics Manager.
  • Check the forklift at the start of the shift, complete the inspection form and notify the Supervisor of any concerns. Issue Maintenance Work Orders if required. 
  • Keeps lift truck maintained, fueled and/or charged and in a safe working condition according to specified instructions.
  • Always operates life truck according to safety procedures.
  • Responsible for proper handling and storage of all materials (i.e. FG, Raw, PP, Packaging). 
  • Recommend ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to lift containers / boxes as required (up to 55lbs.)
  • Must be able to work outside in any weather condition. 
  • Adheres to desk procedures specific to the Shipper Receiver position.
  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.
  • Any other reasonable request made by Management.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Basic working knowledge of English, verbal and written.
  • Grade 10 level education or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Minimum 6 months’ related experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
  • Forklift Driver Certificate.
  • Good organizational skills.
